First Aid at Work

This life saving course is ideal for all workplaces, public environments and even private individuals who are prepared to assist those requiring first aid. The course is especially recommended for any high-risk working environment, examples could include construction, agriculture, factories, use of machinery, etc.

An accredited Level 3 Award qualification

The 3-day First Aid at Work course is valid for 3-years and meets all the HSE requirements. Delivered by passionate and highly qualified instructors, we use a mix of theory as well as practical training and assessment methods that are both thorough and engaging. General course content would include assessing an incident, CPR and AED use, controlling bleeding, treatment for choking, fractures, burns, chest injuries, dealing with shock and major illness etc.

At our venues: 3-day face-to-face option is £195 per person. Blended learning option is £185 per person
(blended learning consists of e-learning plus 2-days of face-face practical training and assessment)
Clients venues: We usually charge a minimum group fee of 8 delegates for any training at our clients venues,
but please call us to discuss your unique requirements.
Qualification Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (RQF)
Entry requirements
  • Delegates must be a minimum of 14-years of age and be physically capable of completing the practical assessments
  • It is advisable to have a minimum of Level 1 in English

What We Cover

Unit 1: Emergency First Aid

  • Understand a first aider’s roles and responsibilities
  • Assess an incident and conduct primary surveys
  • Provide first aid to an unresponsive casualty
  • This will include CPR and how to use
    an AED as well as the recovery position
  • Seizures, choking and external bleeding are also covered as well as treating
    casualties in shock and with minor injuries

 

Unit 2: Recognition and management of illness and injury

  • Revision of Day-1
  • Conducting secondary surveys
  • Head and spinal injury treatment
  • Chest injuries
  • Burns and scalds
  • Eye injuries
  • Anaphylaxis
  • First aid for major illnesses such as heart attacks, strokes, asthma and diabetes
  • Injuries such as abdominal and crush injuries
  • Extreme heat and cold injuries
  • Bites and stings
